Director of Inspectional Services

The Town of Mattapoisett is seeking applicants for a full-time Director of Inspectional Services.

Mattapoisett is a small, coastal community in Southeastern Massachusetts with an annual operating budget of approximately $32 million.   The town has approximately 3,200 residential properties and 290 commercial properties.

The Director of Inspectional Services is responsible for department level management of the Building Department. 

  • This includes the enforcement of all construction and related codes, serving as the Town’s zoning enforcement officer.
  • Directing the activities of all subordinate personnel.
  • Performing the administrative work of the department, directing the issuance of permits and the collection of fees, preparing and issuing reports, maintaining files, and preparing and managing departmental budgets.

The successful candidate shall have a minimum of a High school education and five (5) years of closely related experience in construction, engineering or design including supervisory experience; Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Full-time Adult Services Librarian

The Town of Mattapoisett is seeking applicants for a Full-time Adult Services Librarian of the Library at the Mattapoisett Free Public Library.

Mattapoisett is a small, coastal community in Southeastern Massachusetts with an annual operating budget of approximately $32 million.

The primary function of the full-time Adult Services Librarian will be to support and oversee the operations of the adult services department of the library by coordinating with the assigned staff and volunteers. This position is responsible for providing complete and accurate information to library users and staff, and contributing to efficient library services through daily projects, events, programs and procedures for the general public. Must provide services in a timely manner and in accordance with town policies, by following the guidelines, regulations and quality standards and ensuring safe, courteous and professional behavior is observed in all situations.

This is a full-time union position, with approximately 35 hours/week with a starting salary range of $27.41 to $31.13 hourly.
