Frequently Asked Questions
Question:       How do I get a mooring, wharf, skiff or dingy space?
Answer:         Applications for the waiting list for all the above spaces are available at the Town Clerk's Office at the Town Hall.

Question:       How do I know when my name comes up on the list?
Answer:         When your name comes up on the list you will get either a phone call from a town official or a letter or both.  However, it is your responsibility to be sure that the information on your application is current.  If it is not, we can not contact you and you loose you spot on the list.

Question:       How do I contact the Harbormaster in an emergency?
Answer:         The Mattapoisett Police Department is the central dispatch for all emergency services in town.  The police monitor channel 9 & 16 on the VHF radio.  If you contact the police in an emergency, they will send out an all call page to every member of the Harbormaster's Department.

Question:       How do I get general information about the harbor?
Answer:         To get information about the harbor and it's use, you can call the Harbormaster's Office at 508-758-4191 or stop in to the office at the Town Wharf.  You can call the Harbormaster at home at 508-758-2052.  The best time to call is early evening or call during the day and leave a message.  Your call will be returned in the early evening, usually the same day.  If you have any questions about general harbor regulations, you can contact the Town Clerk's Office at 508-758-4103.  Here you can obtain copies of Harbor Rules and Regulations, as well as apply for mooring permits, wharf, skiff, and dingy spaces.
