Family members, caregivers and friends are encouraged to contact Ben Martin, Outreach Specialist, if you know of an elder who may benefit from involvement in the programming available through the Mattapoisett Council on Aging. Interaction with other members of the senior community can be therapeutic as well as enjoyable for many elders.
The Friendly Visitor Program is one program offered through the Outreach Program available to elders who are generally homebound and who may enjoy a social visit from a friendly volunteer for an hour each week. This program is available throughout the tri-town area. Interested parties may call the Mattapoisett Social and Wellness Center at 508.758.4110 for additional information.
Home visits are also available, through the Outreach Program, as well as in conjunction with the Public Health Nurse through Nurselink.
Outreach also works with others in the community such as ORR, the Mattapoisett Elementary Schools, the Lions Club and the Mattapoisett Congregational Church's Open Table, to identify elders in the community who may most benefit from occasional home delivered meals, gift baskets, and more. For more information on these programs, please contact the COA.
